This Easter Good Friday , Avalon Raceway will remember it origins by running the inaugural Norm & Hazel Drew Memorial for the Junior Quarter Midgets. Norm and Hazel , together with Norms brother Doug and Dot , built Avalon Raceway in 1976 and still today it is run by the Drew family. The current Drew family would like to remember what there family started all them years ago , but also remember that the future of the speedway is in its junior divisions and supporting these little racers. This season the Drew family have a great grandson in Jake Bradley racing his first season in the 120cc novice class , so it's perfect timing to have the inaugural Norm and Hazel Memorial Race which will be an annual event .
Racing will be from 12 to 3pm, then the Junior Quarter Midgets will be on display in the pits for the pit walk and have there trophy presentations by some Sprintcar drivers . Then during interval , the kids will be on the tilt tray throwing out Easter eggs to the crowd . So get your back side track side this Easter Good Friday and watch these little racers having some fun sliding around there quarter midget track on the Melbourne side of the pit entry / car park .
