Where do I buy a car?

Most families purchase second-hand quarter midget cars from current or former members. There is a Facebook group called Victorian Quarter Midget Buy/Swap/Sell, which regularly has cars and parts for sale.

What number will my car be?

To request a race number, email [email protected]. The number you want may or may not be available. If it is not, you may have to choose another. You can then ask to be placed on a waitlist for when your preferred one comes available.

At present, numbers from V0–V99 are in use (excluding number 1).

What safety equipment do I need?

For your child’s safety, the following are required:
• Approved racing helmet
• Fireproof race suit
• Neck restraint
• Gloves and arm restraints
• Racing shoes and approved race socks
• Safety seat belt and harness (included with most cars)

These items can be purchased from stores such as ARP – Australian Racing Products and Victory Lane Race Gear.

How do I join the club?

Simply fill out the membership form on our website or contact a committee member. We’re here to help guide you through the process and answer any questions along the way.

Where do my JQMV club dues go?

Membership fees help cover insurance, race-day equipment, trophies, and ongoing improvements to keep our Association running safely and smoothly.

What motor do I run?

JQMV uses Honda 120cc and 160cc sealed motors, depending on your child’s age and class. The club can help you choose the correct one.

What class/division will my child start in?

Kids start in the division matched to their age. All new racers complete two races from the rear before moving into the Grid Draw.

What is a typical race day like?

Race days usually begin with sign-in, driver briefing, and car safety checks. We then run heats followed by finals. Families work together in various volunteer roles, and the day wraps up with trophies or presentations.
